Mashael Al-Khayal, a member of the Saudi national fencing team; bagged a gold medal in the Virtual Fencing Intercontinental Epee Cup. Saudi Arabia's Nada Abed also came third with the bronze medal in the seven-day event; organized by the Pan-American Fencing Confederation.
A total of 150 players from various parts of the world also participated in the virtual championship. Bolivian fencer Louise Maria Bastos came second with the silver medal in the event.
It is noteworthy that Saudi Arabia's Modawi Al-Khayyal and Sheikha Al-Dossary won gold as well as silver medals; in the second virtual fencing championship held in the first week of July.
