Under the patronage of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the Saudi Royal Naval Forces will organize, during 24-26 November 2019 here, the Saudi International Maritime Forum for Sea Patrol Ships under the theme “Importance of Securing Strategic Sea lanes”.

Casting light on the event, Chairman of the Forum’s Committee Commodore Faisal bin Mohammed Al-Ghamisi said the forum is set to discuss ways to guarantee the security and safety of sea lanes due to the strategic roles of sea outlets in our region for the world’s exports and imports, citing the Swiss canal, Bab Al-Mandab and Strait of Hormoz as important passages for the international traffic, trade and economy.

Al-Ghamisi pointed to the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the regional and international levels to contribute to the maintenance of international peace and security, consistent with achieving the vision of the Ministry of Defense.

He said the forum also aims to strengthen the ties between the Saudi navy and its counterparts in the sisterly and friendly countries.
