  • The International Maritime Exercise 2019 (IMX 19) lasted for several weeks, with the participation of Saudi Royal Navy ended on Friday.

IMX 19, in which the Saudi Royal Navy participated, was led by the US Naval Forces Central Command, US 5th Fleet and Combined Maritime Forces and covered the region from the Gulf of Aqaba to the Northern Arabian Gulf.

Given the number of countries participating, including the Saudi Royal Navy, IMX 19 is considered the world's largest maritime exercises and maneuvers.

IMX 19 combined operations and training, in both the Arabian Gulf and waters off the coast of the Republic of Djibouti.

IMX 19 also included the assumptions of securing and protecting maritime transport lines, confronting threats that impede the freedom of international shipping, the flow of international trade, maritime security and embargo operations, as well as cooperation and sharing of maritime experiences, with participating countries.
