Six people were killed when a Mexican Navy helicopter crashed in the country's Sierra Gorda ecological region while attempting to extinguish fire, authorities said, according to dpa.
The helicopter plummeted on Friday about 89 kilometres north of Jalpan de Serra, in the central state of Queretaro, said a statement by the the Mexican Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR).
Search andrescue teams were sent to the area on Friday in the hope of finding survivors,but instead found all six were dead.
