Sudan Declares State of Emergency for Three Months

Sudanese Security and Defense Council declared a state of emergency across Sudan for a period of three months; considering the country as a natural disaster zone, following the recent torrents and floods.


In a statement; Sudanese Minister of Labor and Social Development Lina Al-Sheikh said that the Council decided to form a supreme committee to address the effects of floods, which affected 16 states of Sudan; killing 99 citizens and injuring 46 others; affecting more than half a million people and causing total and partial collapse; for more than 100,000 houses.
