An official source of the Ministry of Interior has stated that according to precautionary health measures recommended by competent health authorities, given that all eleven (11) positive cases registered with the new Coronavirus COVID19 are people from Qatif Governorate, as internationally established practices to prevent the spread of the virus requires dealing at the geographical level in which the cases are present, and the need to take all recommended preventive health measures to prevent the spread of the virus, it was decided the following:

1. Suspending entry into and exit from Qatif Governorate temporarily (from Saihat in the south to Safwa in the north).

2. Enabling returneeswho live in the governorate to reach their homes.

3. Stopping work in allgovernment departments and private institutions, an increase in precautionarymeasures to prevent the possibility of transmission of infection, with theexception of basic facilities to provide security, supply and necessaryservices, such as pharmacies, supply stores, petrol stations, and health,environmental, municipal and security facilities, while taking necessary healthprecautions.

4. Enabling commercialand catering transport to move to and from the governorate, and takingnecessary health precautions.

Anyone affected by thisprocedure will be granted a health license to be issued electronically andapproved by the Ministry of Health.

The source emphasizedthat the continued cooperation of all citizens in implementing theprecautionary measures will have the greatest impact on the success of thetaken measures, and enabling competent health authorities to provide the bestmedical care to prevent the spread of the virus and eliminate it to ensure thesafety of all people.
