Jordan's minister of health saidthree Mexicans and one Swiss tourist were wounded along with four Jordanianswhen a man went on a stabbing rampage in Jersah city, a major touristdestination near ancient Roman ruins.

Four of those injured had moderate to serious woundsand the others light ones, Fayez Jaber told Reuters, giving gave no furtherdetails.

But a security source said that along with the tourguide, three other Jordanians, including a policeman, were hurt before theattacker was subdued and arrested.

Sources had earlier mistakenly said three of thewounded tourists were Spaniards.

Jerash is famed for its Roman ruins.
