UAE Announces Recovery of First Coronavirus Patient

UAE's Health of Ministry announced the first recovery of a coronavirus patient admitted into one of the country's hospitals.

Liu Yujia, a 73-year-old woman from China, has recovered fully. She "can carry on with life normally," according to the Ministry.

Liu thanked UAE authorities for the great care and medical attention she received. She also expressed her gratitude for the care provided by the UAE's healthcare authorities to her family members. As they were also tested positive for the new virus.

Chinese Consul General Li Xuhang; UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention's Assistant, Hussein al-Rand, visited Liu. They congratulate her on her full recovery, reported UAE's Agency (WAM).

Xuhang expressed his gratitude to the UAE leadership, government, and people for demonstrating the true meaning of solidarity with Chinese people in confronting this latest outbreak.

He expressed his relief and joy following the announcement of Yujia's recovery, lauding the UAE's advanced health care systems and the strong coordination between both countries.

For his part, Assistant Under-Secretary al-Rand said the results of the 2019-nCoV detection test conducted on the patient turned out negative of the new coronavirus.

Rand also noted that the UAE has taken all necessary measures to deal with the newly announced coronavirus cases.

"Individuals diagnosed are receiving proper health care in accordance with leading WHO standards, with monitoring each individual case until attaining full recovery," announced Rand.

"This case also increases hope that other discovered cases in the UAE can also fully recovered," he affirmed.

UAE detected one new case of coronavirus on Monday. This brings the total number of people diagnosed with the disease to eight.
