UN envoy to Yemen welcomes Riyadh Agreement implementation

UN Secretary General's Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths has welcomed the Riyadh Agreement development; including the formation of the new government.

In detail a statement said; Griffiths congratulated the Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi, all parties, and political components; that supported this process, expressing his congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"This is an important step to enhance stability; improve state institutions and it is also a pivotal step towards a lasting political solution to the conflict in Yemen," he said.

Gulf allies welcome


Meanwhile; GCC Secretary General and host of Gulf allies too welcomed the formation of the new Yemeni government and the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement; signed between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council.

GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf also welcomed the decision to form the new Yemeni government from various Yemeni political components; which comes as an implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.

Dr. Al-Hajraf expressed his markedly appreciation for all the efforts of the Yemeni parties; aimed at giving priority to the interests of the Yemeni people and preparing the atmosphere; for the Yemeni government in order to practice all its work in Aden.

He also praised the great efforts that the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.

He additionally affirmed the GCC's keenness to restore security and stability in Yemen, and the GCC's support for the efforts of the United Nations aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis; in accordance with the GCC Initiative; the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue, and Security Council Resolution 2216.

In Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates welcomed the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement; signed by the legitimate Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council; and the announced formation of a government of political competencies in Yemen, and hoped that this will be a step on the way to achieving a political solution to end the Yemeni crisis.In detail
