Council of Cooperative Health Insurance issued today a circular to all healthcare providers and health insurance companies that if they receive any case suspect to have Coronavirus (COVID-19), they must provide urgent treatment to the cases without waiting for the approval of the insurance company, adding that insurance companies must be notified about the case within 24 hours from receiving the case.
Theofficial spokesman of the Council, Yasser Al-Marik, said that the suspectedcases of coronavirus must receive the urgent care set by the Ministry ofHealth. He added that due to the current circumstances, people having insurancepolicies can receive the urgent treatment from healthcare providers even if theinsurance does not cover the institution, adding that the suspected cases couldbe either related to traveling or were in contact with other confirmed COVID-19cases. The spokesman added that this initiative comes to support the efforts ofgovernment agencies to combat coronavirus, urging all private healthcareproviders to implement the approved preventive and precautionary measures forsuspected cases.
In addition to this, Al-Marik said that the insured can benefit from the communication channels for responding to all inquiries and receiving feedback, suggestions and complaints through one of the following channels: customer care number 920001177, electronic portal www.cchi.gov.sa, e-mail info@cchi.gov.sa, smart phone applications, or through the Council official webpages cchi.ksa on social media channels.
